2.  A) to reduce bugs in the program and if there was only one then things would get complicated. B) They can only be used for mathematical purposes like adding, subtracting or storing numbers and it is also very limiting.

 1. A) there are 35 characters in the sentence. B) Yes, it does matter. If it is using one byte per character then it can only handle ASCII strings. Four bytes per character would allow it to handle Unicode strings and can hold much larger character set.
